Italian Courses

Italian is spoken by over 60 million people as a first language. It is spoken in Italy, parts of Switzerland, Vatican City and San Marino and as a second language in several other countries. Italian is a Romance language, like Spanish, French, Romanian and Portuguese. You will find just the right program at the Indy Language Center. We offer programs for all children, teens, students, adults and business executives. Classes are offered at our offices, your home or business, as well as over the Internet. Below is a list of all of our adult group courses in Italian. If you don't see the course you're looking for below, please contact us. Beginning Italian I

Parla italiano? Our beginning level Italian course introduces students to the basic concepts of the language while focusing on Italian as a part of everyday life. Topics include common greetings, asking for and giving personal information, basic vocabulary for travelers, colors and numbers, and the fundamentals of pronunciation. Students will learn to hold a basic conversation after this course on the topics that were covered in class. This class meets for six weeks for 120 minutes per class.

Beginning Italian II

This course is a continuation of Beginning Italian I or an entry level class for students who have previously studied Italian. In this course the basics of Italian grammar are introduced, but most emphasis is placed on listening comprehension and vocabulary building. Students gain greater confidence in using Italian in everyday situations.

Beginning Italian III

If you have a basic knowledge of Italian grammar, but need to brush up on your skills and want to break out of basic Italian, then our intermediate level course is for you! This class builds on the basics of Italian grammar, including all verb tenses, the basics of the Italian subjunctive and object pronouns. Students enrolled in this course improve their conversational skills while learning proper Italian grammar. There are more levels after this couse that are posted as students move from this level to level four.
